OFFICIAL BIOGRAPHY
Gerald vanHeerden is an award-winning director of new plays and musical theater works. He has been directing since the 90’s and worked at numerous theatre venues in the New York City and regional areas, including Stageworks in Tampa, FL, The Ensemble Theatre in Houston, TX, NYC: TFNC-Johnson, the Hudson Guild, the June Havoc Theatre, the Dorothy Streslin Theatre, and the Harry du Jur Theatre-Henry Street Settlement. His focus is on the discovery and development of new plays, the conceptualization of new musical theatre, and the shepherding of new talent through his work as a teaching artist. He holds a BFA in musical theatre from the Boston Conservatory at Berklee and is an alumnus of Webster University Conservatory, St. Louis, MO. He is a proud member of SDC.
